Want to learn Tarot card reading?

Posted on June 29, 2009 at 10:59 AM

I am in final editing stages, re-editing, actually of my book "Hard Core Tarot" which can teach you how to read tarot cards in record time. It is written from the perspective of a musician, of course. It was actually finished about 3 years ago. It got rejected by a major publisher in the final stages. Personally, I think it was because I kind of called Bullshit on Cold Readers in a roundabout way. That and I didn't want a purple book with flowers on it. Amazon has a way to self-publish now, so I'm going to put it out there. I wrote it while I was still doing a lot of readings. I'll follow up on this when it's available.

I have finally submitted the book for publication. I finished the cover work and all that crap. It will be available on Amazon.com soon. As long as there are no problems with the artwork or setup, it should be a few days.

The formatting was approved and I just ordered my proof copy of the book. It is supposed to get here around the 29th. If it looks good enough to sell then It's on! If not, then back to the drawing board.

Since it's Print on Demand, shipping could take a hell of a long time. What I'm going to do, is order several copies and you will be able to PayPal directly from my site and I will be able to get them to you hella fast and maybe cheaper, too depending on shipping cost. There are digital versions available, too, so Kindle users and others can get instant gratification! I just hate playing the waiting game!

Eventually it will be available at Barnes and Noble and at Borders, but you will probably end up paying $12-$15 there. I really don't want to charge people more than $10 so maybe better order it from me.

I estimate availability of Hard Core Tarot to be about August 15th. What the Hell when it's 100+ degrees outside why not spend it indoors, learning to read Tarot Cards instead of watching TV or burning up outside?

Tarot is the new age card game. I find it a pile of bullshit on steroids. Ya, it's emotional and has the Archtypes. But, it's a contrivance. The Hermetic Order popularized it, and they are glorifiers of Rosicrucianism, Qabalah and the most nauseating of all - Wiccanism. It's all fucking bunk.
Madame Blavatsky and her Theosophical Society were attached to Fabianism and New World Order types from the outset. "Isis unvelied" and "The Secret Doctrine" are the basis for today's New Age Nature Worship movement.

It's "occult" because it's hidden.
My balls are also "occult"

The book really doesn't make any claims as to the authenticity of tarot cards. It just teaches "the Game" to put it in your words. That's probably why it was rejected by that major publisher. I didn't try to make any wild metaphysical claims. Basically it's the nuts and bolts on how to read the cards but it leaves belief in anything supernatural up to the reader.

IMO the decks that are used most often (Waite and Crowley) were designed for focal meditiation somewhat but mostly to make $$ off the people who were involved in the Spiritualist movement at the time.

I do it just for fun and to freak people out at work, personally. It's a party favor to me for the most part, the same thing with Ouija Boards, people always tend to get what they expect out of them. There's an essay I did about that in the book, too.

Maybe you will be the Crowley of our time sir?
I would appreciate that for sure!
Sounds like you have made a strong start

I have a Celtic stylized deck that I've used as an exposed focal point by framing all the major arcana. It's mainly so I can refer to them easily
Certain things always emerge when you take a hard look at it from time to time.

The "Tower" card always reminds of 911 and the tower of Babel and of course Joachim and Boaz.

15 Cernunnos (in this deck) is as evil as CERN
You should google CERN's logo, you will see 3 6's

I could only be deranged enough to be Crowley. I like his writing though. Jachin and Boaz feature a bit in my work too. Anything Celt is cool by me. The next tat I get will probably be a Cernunnos. Can't beat the original Horn God! I want to design my own deck but I haven't drawn actively in years so my art looks pretty awful. I got the 911 thing off the tower, too. I see it as the beginning of the end of America. Failure and Impotence. Sux too. I'm as American as they get. God Bless Kalashnikov and pass the bullets. One of my Credit Card Expires 12/12. We'll see if I ever get another one.

Invariably I get the "Fool" in my spreads. Forever the seeker, that is me.

I tend to draw the Hanged Man when I draw for myself. When you draw the fool remember the dog at your heels, but never lose sight of that which you are seeking. That dog can make a mess of you if you lose focus. (reading from the Waite deck, of course). Some decks don't have the dog, but I think he's important.
